I live in NY and travel to CA quite frequently. I have yet to come across a Hawaii quarter. That's the only one I need for my commemorative quarter collection. What gives? Did they actually come out?
Yup, sure did. It's not too suprising that you haven't seen them in circulation given all the coin hoards being cashed in recently. Not a lot of demand for coin production right now. So far in Michigan I have seen exactly 3 2009 dated coins in circulation, all cents.
I found a nice one a few days ago in my change. It looks uncirculated. needless to say she is in a flip now. I find them on occasion but they are usually in poor shape.
JimS if you need a 'P and a D' just let me know and they're yours. The 'P' is UNC and the 'D' is in great condition circulated both in flips. zeke
This is the most abundant state quarter I have seen in Southern Illinois. I get these by about a 2:1 ratio over other state quarters.
At first i thought you must be talking about the Hawaii issued quarters , the old ones. Hawaii state quarters seem to be one of the most commen here on the east coast.
Interesting. Here in southern New York I have gotten exactly one HI quarter. Coincidentally, the IL quarter is the second scarcest around here. I have seen exactly two of them so far.
