From what I've seen, the two 19th century nickel 5-cent series (Shield and Liberty V) have never been widely popular with collectors. Don't know why but it probably has something to do with the lack of intrinsic value that silver has, the "warmth" of the copper color and the fact that there are very few people alive today that used them extensively. And the designs weren't all that thrilling. The Indian Head (Buffalo) nickel 5-cent series is generally the oldest issue to capture collector interest. Nice Kanga.....especially like the '83 "no cents" nickel (as this is the only example of the liberty series that I own). Shields I gotta work on....always thought the design quite desireable. As to the "link" question? I always like it when the pics are contained within the post. Then again, I don't have "dial up".
Nice coins, I really like the 1866 nickel. How much does one of those cost, like the 1866? Here's my V nickel, I don't have any normal ones, yet. :whistle:
