    Hi everyone,

    I hope you're doing well!

You guys are wayyyyy too much. lol I really need to find a way to give back to this incredible community. Seriously, I need suggestions because I owe you guys so much, but, I'm not creative enough.

After I posted my 2020 review, @LaCointessa messaged me and wanted to continue the heavy stream of generosity. I'm not surprised by her generosity. But, it was overwhelming.

She got in contact with our @John Anthony and soon a surprise was on it's way.

I've always admired the coins from Syracuse, especially the iconic decadrachm - I can only imagine what it's like to hold one of those.

It took a few weeks to get here. Last week, this bad boy slipped through my mail slot.

    IMG_8112.jpg IMG_8114.jpg IMG_8113.jpg

My jaw dropped! I'm absolutely in love with it.

So, a huge shoutout goes to LaCointessa and John Anthony for this awesome little piece of history.

I'd also like to give a huge shoutout to @Sulla80 for making my coin pics look much better!

I am eagerly awaiting AMCC 3, so excited!

This forum is one of the few bright lights I can recognize these days. Thank you for everything you are and all that you do!

Continue to be kind to each other and stay safe.

    Thanks so much!

    Definitely a great start!
That is a beautiful coin! And an amazing act of generosity from @LaCointessa!
@John Anthony is no slouch either ;)
I've said this over and over again, but I feel it is worth repeating again.

The Ancients forum is the best!

    Congrats on your beautiful coin!

What a wonderful act of generosity from @LaCointessa and @John Anthony
Great provenance, excellent patina and that coin is in a masterful style!... and from one of the coolest places in history!
Here's a recent Syracuse purchase that I'm thrilled with!

That is a very nice bull. So many of them are off center losing one end or the other of the bull.

    Ooh, that is really nice!

Most current attributions have your coin as being minted under Hieron II(275-215 B.C.). I'm not sure how the consensus has changed since SNG ANS(American Numismatic Society) came to their findings.

I've been on a real Sicily Æ kick lately.

2021 is starting to shape up for me too in the coin collecting arena.

After my laptop broke last Dec., I waited almost two months for its replacement to show up; only needing to return it after receiving it.

I ordered another one that arrived yesterday.

That means I can get back to posting more pictures of coins, instead of only long winded text. I'm also finally getting around to setting up my photo station. So, hopefully the pics will improve a little too.

Great coin Erin, can you show a bigger pic of the man faced bull coin ?
And I wonder if your bull butting coin is magnetic ?

Thank you so much everyone! I love your coins!

It's been a bit busy with my family, my dad had minor surgery on Wednesday, so, I'm a little late getting back.

Sorry about your computer troubles, @Herodotus. I'll be happy to see your pictures.

My coin collection is nothing I ever imagined it would be when I first started. I thought I'd have a few Judaean and Roman coins and that would be it. Now, I'm all over the place, which I really enjoy, because of everyone on this forum. The gifts, the suggestions, the inspirations - they've all turned my collection into something truly amazing!

I'm glad that I discovered ancient coins when I did so that I will have many decades of collecting to come and, hopefully, make collectors of my future kids, niece and nephew. My only regret is that I didn't discover collecting earlier.

I attempted to play around with the Man Faced Bull, @Andres2. I hope it came out ok. I know nothing about photo editing. @Sulla80 did a fantastic job of fixing up my original picture.

Erin, Congrats on adding another handsome coin to your collection & high praise to LaCointessa for her generosity & concern . There are special people in CT who transcend their everyday activities & responsibilities to make life more pleasant for others ;). Ancient coins are a wonderful escape from the toils & hardships of life, & give us a glimpse of the past that is real & tangible. Stay positive & good things will follow :D.
