Congress just voted and passed a "Coin Clunker" bill.
It takes money from one group of Americans AND borrows money from China, and pays coin collectors $350 to $450 to turn in slabs that don't have CAC stickers.
"This is a historic day" said the President. This will go a long way to prevent coin collectors from "acting stupidly" he said.

Soon after this statement, the President's Press secretary, Robert Gibbs, announced that the President will be getting together to have a few beers with John Albanese and David Hall at the White House.

Seems your calendar is out of whack. April 1 is nearly eight months away!

Also at the press conference the Administration announced the complete overhaul of the coin collecting hobby and that shipping fees will be going up on those earning over $250,000 to pay for it. "I won't rest until every American has at least 1 Buffalo nickel, 1 Mercury dime, and 1 Morgan dollar in their collection!" the President said.
"I believe wealthy coin collectors should pay their fair share" he said. When it was pointed out that the top 1% of all coin collectors already paid more in shipping fees than the bottom 95%, he simply turned his head.
The President was then asked if coins would be rationed for the elderly. "Sure they'll be rationed. They can't tell the difference between a clad coin and silver anyway"
George Bush was asked his opinion on the touchy subject. "I am not much into numismathimaticals. You'll have to ask Laura about that"
Dick Cheney was asked once again whether the US invaded Iraq because of oil. "Oil? You think we invaded because of oil" he laughed "it wasn't oil at all, it was the coins! Have you ever seen a mint set of Kurdistan coins? They are Sweet!"
Senator Reid was asked about the possibility that another huge bureaucracy might tend to grade a single coin anywhere from G-4 to MS-65. "what's the problem, that happens now anyway" he said.
Sarah Palin was quized about the new legislation. She was asked if she was a coin collector "You betcha I am!" she said "in fact, I once created a whole roll of Buffalo nickels with my bare hands!"
Rush Limbaugh got into the act as well. "I think coins should be loaned out to the folks, In fact I may loan some out myself. That way we could have "COINS ON LOAN FROM GOD!"

Sorry about that folks. I'm on vacation and have a lot of time on my hands.

hahahaha that was pretty well done, I must say. What's next, Universal Coin Care, where the government decides if a coin should be cleaned or not?

I'm still holding out for the Universal Coin Plan. My current coin plan is running out of funds and the co-pays are terrible.
And I think I'll keep my clunker for now...it's comfy and broke in just the way I like it.
    GUy~

All of my coins are clunkers so I should be able to make a fortune off this. :D

    Ribbit :)

Ps: When John McCain was questioned about where he stands on the new legislation, he said, "Coin Collecting today is fundamentally sound so we don't need no stinking legislation."

When Hilary was asked where she stands, she said, "I co-wrote the legislation when I was the 1st Lady and Bill misplaced it and President Obama found it under "his" desk and is now trying to pawn it off as his idea." :goof:

    I don't get it.

It seems to be logical and the way that Congress & the mint act, it may be a fact before long.
