I have a friend who has a cast lead scale weight. I think it is old, 300 BC to 200 AD. It has an inscription in Greek: Ο | ΚΔΡΠ | Ω . Can anyone recognize this letter combination? The weight was sold in an auction by Malter in 2011 where it was described: Roman Colonial, lead weight in the form of cross Roman Colonial, c. 300-100BC., a lead weight in the shape of an incised cruciform with raised Greek lettering that reads as follows. O / K?P? / ?. The cross form is longer horizontally as piece measures 3.5" x 2.75" x .5" thick. Weight is 359.6 grams. Ex. Joel L. Malter Collection. Ex. Paul Bessey collection.
Translation in English reads: THE KDP Oh. Maybe it's the name (or abbreviation of the name) of a counting house or market?
