Arcadius VOT V

    I am almost finished with this Arcadius. It is very rough. I have some smoothing to do after I am sure of the ID. I think it is Arcadius VOT V with mint mark CON Gamma. It is about 14 mm.

    I like the cute little portraits on these. Arcadius was only 5 years old when he was raised to the rank of Augustus by his father, Theodosius I.

    Very nice coin. Mine was just a chunk of dirt. I wish I cold have done a better job. Thanks for the feedback.

    Well, it certainly looks a lot better than a chunk of dirt now! :) Were the scrapes underneath the dirt, or were those cleaning oopsies?

    Cleaning oppsies. This was one of my earliest and took a long time to figure out. I think I learned some from this one.

    @ancient coin hunter Being so tiny makes them more difficult to clean. Mine was very encrusted. Nice job on yours.
