I got some fifties from the bank and one was a series 1990 J-A. It is in Crisp uncirculated condition with what looks a very slight indentation at the top and center. Maybe a paper clip or a counting wrinkle. It is still crisp and clean with no marks or stains, center very well. I am really surprise to see it come out of a bank. Paper Maney value says 85 dollars at CHCU. An idea on a real value from a dealer? As my scanner is dead and my camera does not do it justice, there will be no pic, sorry. Are older fifties common now or was I "just lucky"?
its a lot harder to get a premium on large denomination notes. $20's and smaller are where the money is at. JMHO
Yeah, I agree. The larger the denomination the harder to find a buyer because so much is tied up in face value alone. Plus, these notes tend to circulate less because of their face value so older series notes are pretty easy to find in circulation. If it was a star note, it might be worth hanging onto...but IMHO a normal $50 is not.
If you can afford to keep it, I would. It is worth more than face and you never know when someone will start up a Kansa City Collection and need that note! Stick it away for a rainy day is my suggestion. RickieB
