the buyer was one of the bidders - - was unwilling to buy the coin @ the price that he bid - - -stated that he knew what my reserve was much higher and didnt actually intend to buy the coin for that much - - so i let it go - -

 

I KNOW my grandmother must have gotten one.... She's nuts about giveaways, and a big mail-in and Cheerio fan! God forbid, however, I go over and ask her... It may be the death of me!

 

If your happy with the price then that is all that matters.

I just hope that eBay NARU's you for completeing an off eBay transaction and using eBay as an advertising venue. They tend to be pretty anal about sellers trying to circumvent their final value fees.

 

I hope this doesn't sound rude...but if you would have waited and taken some of our advice I think you could have gotten much more then what you did....not that you should back out of the deal or anything...but sometimes it pays to take some time and not jump at the first offer...I have done the same thing only to months later find that the coin sold for more.

Why did you settle for so much less? You mean that you contact the highest bidder and he says, "Naw, I've decided I only want to give you $2500 even though I bid up to $3950 and knew your reserve". Horse pucks! Maybe you should have re-listed the coin with no reserve and that way you had some claws in the transaction to make it happen. Are you as happy with Mr. Braddick as you were before? I think he messed you up from the first...

 

Congrats on the sale. And yes I checked all of my sac dollars(all 8 of them) for one like what is described. Guess when I go to the bank I will ask for a few of them.

jperry-If you are referring to my post or tanner520's post then all you have to do is click on the red triangle around an exclamation point in our post (which ever post(s) you find offensive). This will allow you to report the offensive post(s) to the moderators instead of having to post in the thread. If you are referring to Speedy's post, well that is another problem since he IS a moderator!

P.S. I stand by my insinuation that lucky intentionally set his reserve so high that he couldn't possibly sell the coin in an effort to circumvent eBay's final value fees. Additionally, I'd be surprised if this doesn't cause him future trouble since eBay tends to be VERY offended when some tries to cheat them out of their fees.

 

I go by the same rules everyone goes by and if you feel I have said something wrong please let me know as I would like to edit it.

As for the posts Jperry was talking about...I have taken care of them.

ahhhh, that makes more sense Speedy. The offensive post(s) are already gone, that's why I didn't see it/them. I honestly thought that jperry was over-reacting to one of the 3 posts I mentioned and I was trying to point that out to him/her (sorry jperry I don't know your gender), but now that I find out the "negativity" jperry was talking is already gone, I guess he wasn't over-reacting at all. He was just talking about a post(s) that I hadn't seen.

I certainly wasn't implying that there was anything wrong with your post Speedy.

Cave, you're correct, there were two out-of-bounds posts between what is now #88 and #89. JPerry objected to the two offending posts (and I reported them to the moderators), and a moderator removed them altogether.

Speedy, I was not responding to your post. I know that you are a moderator and wouldn't post anything offensive. I was discussing the posts from the guy auctioning the Cheerios coin.

The language and pejorative were offensive and not what you would expect to see on this board. I am not easily offended, it was just out of character for this board.

I really like this board especially the attitude that everyone here exhibits. It appears to me that all are polite to others and want to learn about coins. I do also.

I hope to post some pictures later this week. Sorry for all of the delays, but I have not had much luck with photos.

I was away from my computer all weekend and didn't see any of the offensive posts. Was luckybox mad at me and Cave for our legitimate and probing (to the quick) questions?

Speedy, what'd I miss??? I'm sure he was mad but did we really get him that stirred up?

Anyway, I have to admit that I too was confused at jperry's request for a moderator to do something. But now I understand what was going on, although I don't know what was said. Darn, I knew I should've gone online this weekend....lol
