This one has a few things going on. If you look at the fields, you'll see that the flow pattern from the coining is visible. The outer devices show die deterioration where the letters/numbers are losing definition especially towards the rim. The Monticello and bust are mushy as are FIVE CENTS. Add plenty of wear...a sloppy looking nickel. Still doing it's job but looking old.
EVERYTHING is doubled/tripled. Words, date, face, eye, hair, Even the facial creases! What is going on here?
I've read about "flow patterns" and "ridge rings" on numerous threads pertaining to die deterioration. I know what ridge rings are. Can you help me to understand what the indicative flow patterns are? Are you referring to these wavy radial lines? Thank you!

Okay, by why is this nickel any different? This nickel sold for around 5k I believe. Clearly, I’m not saying mine was worth anything, but I would love for someone to explain the difference.
That's a true doubled die. Look at the profile and the eye. The die was doubled to cause that effect on the planchet struck. The worn die caused the effect on your nickel. As the die deteriorates, sharp lines and details become washed out and things like a berm look like a raised area associated with doubling of a die. But it's just die fatigue.
