I've got a couple of those. The darker one was found at an estate sale. It had been stored in an out building, in a small envelope for who knows how long. I think its MS but the toning isn't attractive but got it for a very reasonable price. The lighter one is AU.

Civil War War general, Franz Sigel riding high after he helped win the battle of Pea Ridge.

Franz Sigel riding not so high after Stone Wall Jackson kicked his butt. Note that the "hero" slogan has been effaced.

And the same idea with seven stars instead. This is very scarce to rare token.

I've got one! That's the first modern day commemorative. Now, that makes 2 which I have that I forgot to include in the original post. Wyoming State Quarter and 1982 Washington with the small head, on his horse.

Hahaha. But that doesn't count. Pegasus was still a horse. LOL. But - until now - only one post with a WOMAN on a horse. I guess there's not much around. Maybe a GODIVA Chocolate coin from the Belgium Mint in 2026 (to commemorate Godiva's 100th anniversary).

Well, I had to go back and grab some photos from the sellers of these. I haven't taken the time to photograph them myself, yet . . . . . .

I’d post more but the fact that you still can’t post pics via URL is sooooo annoying.
