Maybe it is me, but when I read the comments on the first page of the weekly Grey Sheets, they tend to be overly positive and overfluff the coin market. Any thoughts?

    Yep, agreed.

AND do you notice that the writeups are almost always about MS coins, particularly -65.
    The exceptions - key/semi-key dates.
I suspect most of us can't go there.

I guess their philosophy is, 'Since there is only so much space, promote the hobby. That pays our bills.'

OK, well I thought the Grey Sheet would have a little objectivity in their reports, so I need to take these with a grain of salt. Talking to dealers the past year, times are not good. I saw this at the Itasca IL NOISE show a couple of months ago - overall the dealers were not positive or enthusiastic.

I will be looking forward to how the ANA show in LA went from all those attending to get a more realistic indicator.

I think dealers finally got the idea that the market isn't what it used to be.
I'm using the June Baltimore Whitman show as my yardstick.

At the March Baltimore Whitman show I found that prices were up around Coin Values listings.
    I'd bought almost nothing.

By June I found the prices were about 10% lower than my max.
I did a LOT of buying.
[NOTE: My max is greysheet Bid plus half the difference between greysheet and Coin Values.]

My next chance to sample the market will be the November Baltimore Whitman show.
Problem is, my buying spree in June was so successful that my wantlist is getting quite short.
Got two replacements plus some harder to find items (not necessarily more expensive, just harder to find).
