It looks like a Clash of one of the columns from the Reverse! If so, nice find!

NAH, it lines up perfect with the column from the building on the reverse. Im sure its a die clash. (WE MUST HAVE BEEN TYPING AT THE SAME EXACT TIME, AND YOU BEAT ME TO IT LOL) it is a column, 2nd one I found so far, BILL

How do the effects of a die clash show up in the design elements of the opposing die?

The dies are very slightly convex and the area of Lincolns neck and the bays between the columns are the highest points of the incuse designs in the die on each side. Since the dies are slightly convex it is possible for these high points in the design to make contact at about the same time the fields do. this can cause the clash marks on Lincolns neck. There may also have been some clash in the fields as well. If the dies were polished to remove field clash the clash on the neck can still remain because it is slightly below the level of the field.
