Ever hear of 3D printers? Guess you don’t know as much as you think. China is absolutely proficient in copying holograms, and we have already established that the COA is toilet paper. Get your expensive coins graded, or you may just have expensive fakes.
That is for the coin you posted. I made an exact copy of your COA in 37 seconds. That is why your coin’s COA is not worth the paper it is printed upon. This answers your original question of certification vs COAs. If I can copy it in 37 seconds, what is it worth?
You might find a sucker down the road. Heck you could be that 3rd party that was suckered into the coin. Your COA is worthless. I don't believe that you are this blind to see what is being said. Anyways your children or grandchildren will with out a doubt see the light when they sell it. Or, your wife when she really needs the money. Good luck Charles.
You just don’t’t get it. Your coin could be counterfeit for all any third party knows. Any coin over $200, I get certified by a TPG. Most smart collectors would, as there is an authenticity guarantee. I just proved that the COA you posted with the coin is worthless. You’re not a very savvy collector.
Dear "Picin and Grinin" and Morgandue, as Vice-President Spiro T. Agnew termed the naysayers, detractors, doubters and critics, both of you fit the term, "nattering nabobs of negativism."
This is the original post. I think members have provided a great deal of information why they prefer a TPG over a COA but the OP seems to have a different opinion. Nothing wrong with that. Time to move on to something else (at least for me)
No, we are the realists. You are quoting a convicted crook. That figures. I will repeat—COAs are nice, fun things to have, but they don’t guarantee authenticity. I proved that, by copying a COA that you had posted in 37 seconds, on my iPad. If I can do that imagine what real counterfeiting professionals can do.
Agnew? Got disbarred, had to resign, was convicted of taking bribes even as VP, income tax fraud etc.
edited I have a Spiro Agnew watch and am proud of it. He had a gift for using the English language. He wasn't convicted. He pleaded "nolo contendere."
I know what he plead, that's a conviction. It's literally what people do when they know they will lose and don't want to contend the charges but just don't want to admit it. It's literally a no contest plea that has essentially the same results as pleading guilty.
Political comments have no place on CT threads, REGARDLESS of the ideology. I would recommend removing it before the moderators do. No sense in getting on Doug's naughty list
It is the same as you did below, except you went thru the trial and are still not convinced of the difference between a coa, and a 3rd party certification/guarantee. Baseball21 just said it best.
