I went to a bank today and purchased $200 in halves. About halfway through the rolls, low and behold was a: !!!! 1935 San Diego Exposition Half Dollar coin !!!! It's in pretty good condition: Date, Obverse and Reverse! It worth atleast $50, i think! It made my DAY! I'm going back for more rolls!!!!! Stop Motion
That's an incredible find! Searching rolls is like playing golf. You could hit 500 average/below average shots (I usually do on the first hole - ), but hit that one winner and it's a perfect day.
WOW-E-ZIP!!!!! That is a great find! I wish my bank had rolls and rolls but as it is right now they get some but not as many as you got!!! Speedy
Hey all, Thanks for the kind commets! I was shocked when I found it! Never thought I'd find anything this cool! Here is a photo of the front - I don't have a great camera for this right now, but will try for better photos soon! Also, I looked through a total of $1390 halves today. I found a total of 43 silver coins today! Not bad, i think. 1964: 4 1965: 5 1966: 6 1967: 11 1968: 12 1969: 4 Good Luck Hunting! Everyone! SM
Nice find I've been hitting the bank often latley asking for half dollar rolls. Most of the tellers look baffled and usually claim they don't have any, then i'll say "ok do you have any 2$ bills"?which makes them even more confused. I think their wondering if i'm caseing the place for a stick up.
The last time I asked my bank for halves, the best they could do was $7 worth, plus a 1980 and a 1999 SBA dollar. I also asked if they had any star notes, and had to explain to the teller what they were. I did get a couple of nice late Kennedy halves that I wanted, and used the rest for tips.
