I have a coin which has states: United States of America, 1841 Great Seal 1903. Apparently it is the seal that is used to make the $1 bills. I don't have a picture of it yet. Does anyone know anything about this coing?

"The Great Seal has had several different incarnations throughout U.S. history. A committee was formed to design the seal after a resolution was passed by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. ... The first die was cut in 1782, and when if became worn, a new die was engraved in 1841. ...By 1904 the 1885 seal was worn out, and a new seal was engraved ... "

The Great Seal did not appear on the Dollar Bill until 1935.

Also -- I did not know this until just now -- the Great Seal is two images: the Eagle (obverse) and the Pyramid (reverse).

Your medal (not a coin) may be from the recutting of the new Seal in 1903-1904, or maybe not... It would be interesting to see... and to authenticate...
