Hello everyone, Hunting for errors is a new hobby I have started in the last couple month and so far have not found any. After about 10,000 pennies I did find this odd looking 1984 D reverse. It does not seem to be after mint damage but rather an error or possible double print. Please let me know what you think.
Def. Not "double print" . The proper phrase would be Double struck . I took the liberty of editing your photo using PhotoScape . It's hard to tell but it looks like scratches , therefore PMD .
You need to show a better picture.. Could be linear plating blisters but I'm not totally sure.. Suggestion. Just because a coin looks different does not automatically make it an error. Most coins you find in circulation have post mint damage. There is no printing in the making of a coin.
hopefully this picture is better, its not a scratch, can clearly see (when looking under magnification) another set of stairs stamped on an angle over the first stairs.
