My son found this 1955 Lincoln cent in some change,it may not be damage and may be common but I have never seen one,of course when it comes coins, there is a lot i have not seen, and a lot more I don't know.
The pic are not very good, but the one on the right is very shinny, and although i know it is copper it just has a different look. What may have caused it,(if anything)to look like this?Hope the pic show what i am talking about.

    Thanks,God bless,Keith

Mercury. As kids we used to put mercury on coins to make them very shiny. That may be what happened to yours.

It was time to move on.

What about rolling mercury around in your hands and dipping coins in it?
