2005 Detached leg buffalo in Westward set

Curious about the rarity of this error being found within the Westward Journey Proof set.
There seems to be quite a few instances of individual coins with this error, but I haven't heard if anyone has found an instance within a proof set.
Is there a possibility someone could seal a nickel and put it in set?

I just got my first 2 re-circulated buffalos this week, the 10 or so I have before then were from people... Now I'm getting them in rolls

Is it really a detached leg or a weak strike?

 

I'm not sure, look at the inner hind leg, where it attaches 2 the body.

 

A weak strike will not produce this effect. Low relief areas are the last to be affected by a weak strike. The detached leg is apparently due to intentional die abrasion ("die polishing"). This takes out the lowest-lying areas of the design.
