It has been about 35 years since I got this advertising Hard Times token. In that time spent in a stapled cardboard holder, the appearance has not changed enough that I noticed.Does it have traces of gilding or is this a natural toning for these? My question is whether this token was issued guilded or whether it suffered alteration sometime before I got it? This is my only advertising token but none of my political ones (all about the same age with me - most were bought as one lot) have similar color.

Well it appears the token , which was distributed in the 1850's in the New York Bowery District, was not a gilded token. Should have an address : 317 Bowery on it.

    Listed as Miller397A
    Brass.

    Nice token though. Great History.
