Hello Sandylou and welcome to the forums. I do not know anything about your coin, could you tell us more about it, where you got it etc? I am far from an expert but it looks like the coin may be a cast replica as opposed to a real minted coin, but i'll let others who know more make that call.
Also there is a foreign coins section of the forum which you may have better luck posting your pics there.

hi thank you for getting back to me I will wait a while and see if anyone esle knows of the coin .
The coin was in amongst a heap of old coins that my ex son inlaw gave to me..
there are some really old coins in the lot I have and many that I will need some help to identify.
I have put another one on here for people to look at and in time I will have some from HONG KONG and other places can you tell me the link to the old coins please Regards Sandylou

I'm afraid I agree with JJK - it looks like a cast fake to me. I don't know that coin but I know a few things about counterfeit coins and that one has many characteristics of a cast counterfeit. Notice the numerous raised bumps on the obverse and reverse of the coin.

The Legend, FRANC.D.G.R.I.S.A.GER.IER.REX. says "Francis, By the Grace of God (D. G.) Emperor of the Romans ever August (Romanorum Imperator Semper August or R.I.S.A.) and King of Germany and Jerusalem (GER. IER.REX)".

TU DOMINE SPES MEA means "Thou Lord are my hope"

It could be (or purport to be) a thaler from one of the German States, but I don't have the patience to compare your picture with the hundreds spread over more than 300 pages of the Standard Catalog of World Coins 18th Century volume. You might visit your local public library and go through their copy (or the one they can get temporarily through an inter-library loan) looking at all the pictures which are the same size as your coin, since the photos are life-size.

I strongly suspect that JJK78 and Hobo are right about your specimen being a cast fake. 18th Century German coins are universally milled, not cast, and yours has the unmistakable look of a (poorly) cast piece.

Separate issue If you continue titling every thread you post with just your name, a lot of people will just assume they've already read the thread and skip over it.

Not without knowing its denomination, which requires knowing its size, since you didn't mention that in your description of the legends. Coins of that era were usually copper or bronze for small denominations, and silver or gold for higher ones. Frequently they didn't state their value, which had to be determined by size.

Hontonai beat me to it. You will increase your chances of getting good responses to your questions if you create a good descriptive title for each thread. Using your name for every thread gives us no clue what the thread is about and makes it difficult to diffenential between your threads.

To help in identifying it would be helpful if when posting that you give the size of the coin (millimeters is best) and its weight(grams to the tenth). If you do not have access you can approximate.
On this coin could you see if it is magnetic??
Hope to see more pics soon:eat::eat:
