I hope this thred is in the right place. I, from time to time venture in treasure hunting. I was just wondering what is out their to be found.
I would like to hear about all the great finds.

I have had the ability to search many states including (Florida,New Orleans, North Carolina, Nebraska, Colorado, Virginia City ,Carson City(Nevada),South Carolina and a few others.

My most interesting finds have come from the East coast along with dozens of old mining towns.

Here is a short list off the top of my head.( I will report back on all the others I can't remember) And specifics

    1857 Flying Eagle in VF
1878 cc ( I think) half (at least vf) discollered from being in the river
17 -something Flowing hair half In such poor condition it barely recoginizable
several large coppers and half pennies from the late 1780- 1830's
    liberty nickles in ag
Barber quarters in good to very fine
Countless mercs, Indian Heads pennies, silver Washington's,Wheat backs,
silver 20 cent piece ( I forget the year) in xf
    countless jewelery and other items

I have yet ,been to any civil war battlefields, But im making a trip next summer!

Feel free to share your finds.

I've never been detecting - but with my luck, I would find something like Hoffa, and have to spend the rest of my life in a witness relocation program.

I purchased a new Whites MXT this spring but so far I've just been too busy and it's been just too darn HOT here this summer to get out and do some serious hunting. I did manage to find some Lincoln's and a silver spoon but so far my biggest find has been the bottom of a rare antique burn barrel, long buried in my back yard. :)

Watch out, some of the battlefields do not allow you to remove artifacts, including coins.

No kidding! I'm headed back up there for college (at NAU) in about 2 1/2 weeks. Look me up if you get up there, and I can tell you some of the better spots for detecting!

Any spots in Illinois? Around the western part. I went yesterday and found a really old seatbelt in my garden ;-)
