Hey I bought a hobo a few weeks back just to add to the collection. I have a bit of a hodge podge of coins going on. In the beginning I wanted to only collect gold but my financial situation won't allow it. :crying: Here's a few pics of some coins I've added to my collection. Oh the clown is not mine, it's just a hobo I saw on ebay and I took the pic, I must have been bored. I bought a caballito peso around 3wks ago, the gold piece from Mexico is a 1/4 ounce. That was one of my first gold buys, I really dig that coin. I don't know why more ppl don't pic up the mexican gold but that's just the way it is. Also, I picked up a victory anglel 1921 dos pesos silver a month ago. I'm getting quite a collection going. :smile
Wow!! Very nice detail on that one, must have cost a good amount. Yeah that is definitely one of the better ones for sure. Do you have a vintage one?
Hobo's hobo nickel is a Bill Zach creation. He usually posts some coins on this site every few months. Nice hobo's you have also. The coin shop had a "potty" dollar yesterday, but who ever did the etching was terrible - nothing as unique as these.
It,s always a pleasure to see Hobo Nickel talk here...We all have our trademarks in our carvings and I think the new nickel with the subject of a big nose was carved by Larry Foster of Ky..The clown I think was carved by Amy Armstong and the one Hobo posted was by Joe P..All three are top of the line coin carvers and great people..If I,m not correct let me know as I don,t keep up with coin carvings and carvers like I used too..
You are correct. I bought it from him last year. Joe is "America's greatest left-handed nickel carver" (or so he says anyway).
It,s hard to purchase a better coin carving then what Joe carves, I don,t want to place or grade coin carvers, but Joe is one of the best and sets the standard many times for others to follow..
Hobo, I can not believe that you let that remark by Twiggs go right past you.. Your slacking my friend.. LOL I see Hobo Nickels once in a while at the local shows, always have to stop and look.
