What is an American Silver Eagle (Type 1)?

I was browsing around looking to pick up a 2021 ASE and I noticed that alot of places have ASEs in PCGS holders that are graded "Type 1"

    Same with NGC putting "T-1"

What does this mean? I've never seen it on any other ASE? o_O

Aren't they changing one of the sides later this year ? The new Morgan Dollar ?

Ohhh is that what it is? I thought maybe they made a batch with errors or something.

Like how the 1878 Morgan Dollar has either 7 or 8 feathers.

That makes sense though. I can't believe I didn't realize it was because of the new design. I totally forgot about the new design later this year!

Maybe 2021 ASEs will become collectibles? o_O

    They have auto order?

I’m signed up for the reminders but I didn’t know they had auto order.

I was able to buy a V75 ASE a while back and those sold out like hot cakes too.

However I looked on the US Mint website and the mintage for the 2021 Proof ASE says “unlimited”, so I’m sure they’ll make more.

Maybe there are so many auto enrolled they do a lottery?

I mean if 10,000 people are auto enrolled but they only release 5,000 ASEs that’s all I can imagine they would do.

The "Limited Edition" Silver Proof Set usually contains a Proof ASE but it would be the S Mint, I think. It comes out later in the year. I don't get them as they include all the same silver coins that are in the regular set and the ASE that can be purchased separate.

The US Mint plays by its own rules.

Of course since you quoted his whole post, even though he has now edited it out, it is still visible in YOUR post.

Didn't do it on purpose. How do I get it out? Looks like someone else may have done that same thing.

Oops. I did that too. How do I remove it?

It won't let me edit it because the post is too old.

Posts can only be editted for like an hour or two after they're made.

I have plenty, but I am not a collector of ASEs. Figured I should get the 2 types this year.

    type 1 just came in:

I learned my lesson! I'll never post a help thread from Mint w/o reading 4 times!
If they steal my identity they'll assume allot of debt to go with it!
