    I was going to say that curly hair is quite reminiscent of one of the Antonine Dynasty emperors. Regardless, I can't wait to see what it looks like once it is cleaned up completely.

    That's exactly where I was going --but initially, a Severan could have been as likely.
    Meanwhile, Congratulations, @galba68! Looks like there's a Lot of coin under there. Looking forward to the next state.

    Definitely Commodus.
    The magistrate seems to be Maternus and possibly struck at Pautalia. That’s a guess, since the legends are so spotty.

    I was going to guess either Commodus or Marcus Aurelius based on that bit of hair that was showing.

    Nice find and I'll bet it cleans up well. Plenty of distilled water and toothpicks/dental pick should do the trick. Looks like stubborn dirt rather than encrustation.
