1928 Series Silver Certificate Star Notes are pricy. The 1928, 1928-A and 1928-B are the only ones I'll even consider, and then only if in the F-VF range. The 1928-C, 1928-D and 1928-E are WAY out of my league.
The 1928-C, 1928-D and 1928-E are all 4-figure (or more; too much for me). The 1928, 1928-A and 1928-B are in the $100-200 range in VF and I can handle that. And the other factor is how interested I am in a particular item. I wouldn't spend even $100 for a 20th century US coin. In general I don't collect those items. But US large cents get the blood racing, hence my willingness to pay more.
I have a '28 in AG condition but yours beats mine by a wide margin, very nice note. Thanks for posting it.
I'm not sure if I would splurge for a star note, but I was able to get a decent non-star note 1928 A at a decent price.
Love that serial number. Like a ladder with a stutter. LOL Here is mine. Got it for $40 raw. Not a star note, but still a nice example.
