Hey, Im looking to fill the empty 1931-s spot in my wheat book...but I can't quite tell the grade with MS coins....what would you say this grade is?and what would you pay? http://cgi.ebay.com/1931-S-LINCOLN-...7aa5b84d1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_1586wt_1083
there is 2 obverses photos one looks fake & the other look fine.I would pass this one. that my 2 cents
he was not asking for two cent opinions. One Cent. LOL. I would keep searching a bit longer goldstone. IN MS 63, Red & Brown, which this item is, runs about $145.00.. Let me check around on the heritage site for you. I'll update you. Ok, My suggestion is, if you can pick this up for under $160.00, I'd say, it's a decent deal. Good luck! Just a bidding thought for you, if you truly want this coin, enter a max bid of $155.00, that should win the item, if it does not, don't worry there will be others.
The two photos are the same and the coin looks nice. The two photos are the same and the coin looks nice. I had to look two are three times though cause they are different angles for sure. If he would guarantee it will grade and be authentic I may buy it but 3 points to remember. 1. These are always available, (it's rarer in circ. grades than mint state, the only Lincoln, or any other coin I can think of that that's true off.) 2. You can find a nice graded coin at some point that suits your needs and you will be glad you waited. 3. With a little looking a graded MS-64 RB or Brown that it very crisp, (most all early 1930's are struck nice) would beat many MS-65's for eye appeal and be a bargain if bought right. Hope that helps you.
Ben, is it your opinion this coin won't make a 64 ? I think it is closer to 64 RB than 63, that's why I suggested the bid as such. If he can pick it up for say $130.00 or so, with the max bid of $155.00, would that not be a decent deal?
go get em goldstone. Also check out my items: Item# 270432777193 270432748830 Compare this 1936 to mine. #2003132955933 This one is definitely more Red Brown.
Better photos would help, I think it would do a 63RB @ PCGS and MS64RB @ NCG. I would consider a higher grade unless you just want the space filled. These aren't too different in price until the higher red grades. And don't shy away from a nice RD, as they should stay red if protected as they have been for close to 80 years. Jim
well, it looks like it is going to go for what I suggested. Anyway, hope your the winning bidder. Sent you a p/m but had not heard back from you.
Nice coin. I would rate it an MS-60 but I can see that it was sold at $180. Sorry, I'm a little late.
It looked decent enough but for that kind of money you could get a decent looking one slabbed and then crack it out.
