Hey everyone, As I have just strated coin collecting again I have been going around buying coins from folks. A few days ago this coin came to my hands at the bottom of a small can I was given by a lady. 20 coins in the can and this one was there. I simply lost my cool seeing that coin when I got back home On the back you can see a smaller flag the date would be 1966. The coin is struck again with 5 aurar.
Sorry, but I think that it is a hammer job. Loook at the date-- it is reversed. And the second picture? Wow. Can you spell damage?
It looks like something has tried to eat it I am extreemly doubtful that it came from the mint looking like that
Actually it´s a three error coin. The planchet is a 25 aurar you can see the 10 aurar and the struck again with 5 aurar. It´s a remarkable coin. Going to get it graded.
I dont think its a hammer job. If you look at the lines on and below the 10, especially the 1. I think it would have had to be hammered with the flag/10/flag to get the markings but there is no flattening
If this was a hammer job wouldnt the person have to have the original dies ? The imege of the 5 Aurar is reversed and a hammer job wouldnt be reversed. Also the planchet is for a 25 Aurar witch is bigger then the 10 Aurar coin so that is a give away error coin to start with.
