I found this 19_3 wheat penny that appears to have a missing number where the 4 should be if it qas a 1943 penny. Can anyone tell me what this is and if it has value:hail:. The coin is magnetic and apears to be exactly like a normal 1943 withthe exception of the missing number (4)

    help me please

The chances that it is a 1943 wheatie is close to nil. Besides what if it is? You certainly can't prove it. You would have to take it to a coin shop to find out what it's worth, or put it on auction and see what you get. Maybe someone else will chime in, if you placed your email address b/c you want someone to respond that way, you may be waiting for quite awhile for a response. good luck amigo

Oh you mean it's a steelie, my bad. In that case you're right and I'm wrong.:D

1943 steel cents with a weak or missing 4, are actually quite common. More than likely a filled die. I once pulled about a half dozen from one roll. You might be able to get a small premium for it.

That magnetic test is the best way to prove it is a 1943. However, even with a missing number those are just not that expensive. At most coin shows they all sell for about $0.25 each in G to F grades. Better than that about $1. at best. There are many RPM's and even some doubled ones but still not much popularity so not much value. Check out www.coppercoins.com
Not sure anymore but I've got several thousand of those things.
