This is a rather uncommon 4 kopek and Krause's value of 30 dollars is clearly undervalued. In fact, I believe it would sell for at least 300USD otherwise I would be more than happy to buy it at 30 dollars. The letter of the edge is due to the previous underhost coin as almost all 1762 4 kopek coins were overstruck over the previous coinage, which in this case seems like yours is overstruck over 1757-1759 2 kopek, denomination above the Moscow emblem. This is an example: You should be able to see the letters "DBE" in your coin easily which is on the left side of the digit 4. The lettered edge was meant for coins struck in 1755-1756 kopek which is another design. What this lettered edge is supposed to be is that it says it was struck in either Ekaterinburg or St. Petersburg. I just have no idea what yours is because you have not shown what your edge is. Nevertheless it is an impressive coin. Congradulations!
Thanks gxseries, that is nearer some of the offers I've had for the coin. I will keep searching though and the coin can go in a box for "The heir to the overdraft" Thanks again Gerryess.
gerryess, for the value I should stay out of Krause for values!! Especially on world coins. Do let us know how the coin works out
