The local coin shop showed me a beautiful complete jefferson Nickel set today with all silver and S mints. All the coins are in BU++ condition and they are offering it to me for $380 dollars. Would this be an okay deal to take? I would love to have the set but is $380 dollars too pricey?
    Thanks

    My initial reaction is this:

Look at the 1938 D and S, the 1939 D and S, (especially the 39-D), and IMHO I would also look at the 1942-D. These are about the only coins in the set that are even remotely difficult to find in nice BU condition. These 5 coins command a small premium in low-end uncirculated condition but a premuim commensurate of the condition as you get into the high end grades and would be the real consideration as all of the rest are relatively common coins.

If those coins aren't knock your socks off beautiful, then I would think twice about buying it.

Personally, I would assemble a set myself. I think you can do it for quite a bit less tan $400 and the fun of putting it together is the real payoff.
