I have an off center penny that has no date. Also, I bought a roll of uncirculated 1979 Pennies and noticed that several of them there are darker areas. What could this be? One of them is a really light color.

Just a few of my favorites.

This one is the size of a quarter.

These 3 must have come from different dies as there is a die crack on the reverse of all 3 but in a different area on each one.

Nice errors, everyone, especially love those huge broadstruck ones Jorgy. And Matthew, that silver colored one might be a non-plated cent. Very neat coins.

But wait! I just bought one of the most amazing errors I've ever seen. This is just a teaser to stay tuned. I can't tell you what it is yet, but I will post photos soon. Todd is photographing it as we speak and I will post it on a new thread in a day or two
(no, Todd is sworn to secrecy so no trying to bribe it out of him!). I am sure you will all be WOWED as much as I was when I first saw it. So keep an eye out!!!!

That top one with out a date can at least be narrowed down to a date after 1981. You can see that by the zinc under the top layer. I have gotten to a point where I can tell the date (+-) 3 to four years just by looking at the font, and color. Some years after awhile just stick out to me. try matching it up to other (Unc.-AU) pennies starting with 1982. You might be able to narrow it down further just by matching the font of "LIBERTY". try it, and good luck.:eek:dd:

    Latest Errors

The latest errors Ihave found are die cracks. One starts below the mallet and extends into the mallet head. The other is a die crack starting below the "R" in PLURIBUS and extends upwards into the boot. Are they true errors?

Really? I feel pretty good having found an error, let alone 2! What's the next step? get them attributed? I'm a probably the newest newbie doing this! LOL

Still pressing on, I found a couple more. One thru the mallet and the other between the"A" & "M" in America south to the top of the head. A few others I'm not sure how to catagorize them. Of course, there is a lot of toning in varying degrees. BTW, thanx for the vote of confidence!
