Came across this penny that has a two bumps around the “D” mint Mark? On the reverse side looks like some letters in UNITED and STATES are thick and oF doesn’t seem right either. The color is different too. I’m super new at this and really enjoy looking through coins!

Looks like Post Mint Damage on the mintmark and possibly a "grease filled die " on reverse .

Your penny is a Crappy Zincoln which accounts for the messy mintmark.

    Hello.
Those are just plating blisters. The color of your cent is just normal toning.
    Nothing major.

Sounds like a great name for an alternative rock band. I am a drummer, anyone play guitar & sing? Let's go!!! LOL

Mintmark is fine (or was), but as noted by our fellow enthusiasts, plating blisters and the effects of hydrozincite are prevalent.

Plating blisters which will soon pop and then the coin starts to rot. It's zinc.
