    Not a fake!!!!!

    The date on my coin is clearly 1884 --but your close up indeed looks like 1824--that would truly be the most idiotic counterfeitor-to counterfeit an error coin knowing the buyer would run to an expert to determine the coin's value . My "office" is in a cove in the living room which has several "spotlights" - they look nice but are horrible when it comes to photographing my coins-- The bathroom works best but having 6 teenagers makes it nearly impossible to gain access!!! I'm going to try taking them outside if it ever stops raining here and the sun comes out. Here is another photo with a clearer picture of the date.
