I did something today that I'm fairly proud of - in a recent thread I talked about owning a lot of mid grade common coins. Tonight, we had our annual bourse meeting at the local coin club. I took several... yeah, several 3 and 4 dollar coins - common circulated walkers, barber quarters, SLQs, buff nickels, mercury dimes, and so forth... and I traded them ALL for the following peices. Let me know what you think, I feel like I did pretty well - in hand, this 1833 busted half looks dang near XF if not making the grade, it is a hair short. The other 3 pieces were just ones I found that fit my purposes... I was quite pleased - they have been added to my website, along with a couple other new US Large Cent pieces I picked up over the weekend. Feedback?
Thanks Speedy! Yeah, the top one is, by far the pick of the litter... the rest were sort of thrown in to accumulate what we thought was a fair value in trade. When I was done, he says to me: 'You will be happier with these coins, than all the rest of these old ones.' I could not argue!
I agree....you will be much happier with these....you did almost the same thing I'm doing little by little....but I'm not trading in most cases...I sell and then set back to buy at the show I'm going to maybe get to go to!!! Speedy
