I am new to the group so sorry if this is annoying, but if you guys would take a second to look at my profile pic. It is a $10 1902 Federal reserve banknote from Martin Tennessee. I am from Martin and we are sure this is the earliest and one of the few notes that specify Martin on it. Does anyone know mintage numbers, if there are more or earlier Martin notes, or if they have seen one or know where to buy one. I was able to get this picture of one that was auctioned from Heritage about a year ago, but hey have not called me back so I can find out about its history, can anyone help?

    PM sent...

BTW look at the reverse and tell me if there is anything in the feild in the center of the note like "dates"

If not, it is a plain back, if yes, then it is a date back.

The 1902 $10 dateback from Martin, Tn is a very rare Bank note. an example sold at Heritage in Fine ++ condition for just over 6 Thousand Dollars in Sept 2008
Thus far Heritage claims it has been the only example of a $10 DateBack known!!
If your notes reverse looks like this, then PM me and we can have a discussion.

National Currency, with the names of assorted local banks all over the country, was issued from 1863 to 1935. I don't have the large book that you'd need to check in order to find out how many banks in Martin issued such notes and exactly when they did so. Probably someone here has it and will get back to you, but if they don't, then try asking your local library for National Bank Notes by Don C. Kelly. You can find lots of these notes (and the book) for sale on Kelly's website, but he doesn't seem to have a Martin, TN note in stock at the moment.

Thanks, apparently I cannot find out anything about the current or previous owner do to privacy laws at Heritage, just that one was sold last year and one was sold in 1983 so whoever has them are holding on to them, so I sit.....
