All true. BUT~ About 20 yrs ago, when a 2400 baud modem was "a fast comm" so we could interact with each other while partaking of online mayhem in the form of competitive WWII aircraft Fighter simulation, where the participants did not always use 50's TV language, & attempts were made to refight accurately various historical events, complaints were made by real survivors of some of the real battles from some of the performce parameters of the software. Very Important to many. "A P-41 could never do that~I flew them." "Zero's turned faster than that, I flew against them." One outstanding "Ace" in the game was invited to the annual convention to receive his kuddos. My squad had two active duty military pilot members, one flew P-3's, the other F-16's & both anxious to meet this Top Of The Game Perfomer. But, in spite of this "Ace" gamer's prowess and knowledge he was unable to attend: Mommy didn't want her 14 y.o. hanging out in a Hooters where the convention was to be held. Point being~Age has it's disadvantages, no matter HOW good you are.
I'll take you at your word. However, you also have to understand that there are certain things in this life that are reserved by law only for those of legal age. Regardless of how mature you and some other CT YN friends are, it only takes one of below the legal age to create a potentially devastating affect on the very existence and continuance of this forum. Believe me I know how you feel, I'm from an era when a teenager could not Bowl without an adult being present. I so hated that. Your intelligent, you get the picture.
Yes I can see how you are right :thumb: Don't really have a response.. LOL... I'm a good seller, never had a problem before, nobody can tell how old I am, on ebay, and most of the people here were shocked about my age, and most of the people at the CU forum still doubt my age. All I can say is I know how to do what I do, and I am good at it, I don't let things slide by me, and I keep my cool, I handle things in a professional matter, when it comes to buying and selling.
Yes I do get the picture. I hate a lot of things I cannot do to my age, can't legally sell things on ebay, I do that anyway, I cannot legally drive, yet, I cannot legally get a job, even though I am more qualified than half of those high school drop outs D). But I guess it is something we have to live with Peter, I wouldn't do a single thing to get in you in trouble, and wouldn't have this forum shut down, and if it were to be shut down for some legal mumbo jumbo, I'd feel terrible. The forum is more important than me selling here :thumb:
There you go, thats maturity! Rest assured, I for one will advocate for YN's to be included in a limited buying plan, if at all possible and legalities permit.
Darn Tooting!! My Army recruiter won't even look at my application. Just looks at me and tears it up ! :vanish: Jim
Tmoney , for the time being if it were determined to have YN's eliminated from the auction venue for legalities, can you possibly suggest to us what might be an alternative to maintain the interests of YN's in this forum and feel to be a valued CT member along with the elders ? brain storming time.
I quoted what you said, while I saw everything you wrote, and when I got to the page it said "edited-not worth my fingers typing", I went back and copy pasted everything and put it down in quotes, but decided to delete it. If I ain't worth your time, you ain't worth my time either, and fact of the matter is, you'd be agreeing with my if you were, I don't know lets say 4-5 years younger, back when you were here, starting out a cointalk. But it is okay speedy, you can think what you want, at this point I do not care.
I think the passion of coins should keep them going. I will continue to participate in this forum whether I can sell, or not.
Wasen't it Ronald Reagan that said, Mr. Gorba goulash "tear down this wall" I'll agree, it's probably a good time for a break and possibly, just possibly take a good look into how we can best accommodate us all and individual expectations for the proposed new features. Come back and offer a constructive suggestion, that will best serve CT, it's members, young and "advanced" (albeit sometimes in age only) collectors, and lets not engage in communication that further distances us, more so than the age factor. It's exciting to be invited to have an input on something that will enhance the uniqueness of these forums. Thinking cap time guys. Thanks. Tom
no the quote is "build it and they will come" and we all can be apart of the foundation that would seriously enhance member benefits and services.
I voted for it because I believe you should be able to buy, sell or trade if thats what you wish to do. Its really up to each person if they wish to sell coins on CT, I know I'd be happy to buy coins here on CT! Just think of all the contacts we have from all over the world what possibilities!!! and a great way to meet coin collectors from all these countys and hear about there great finds and collections. I just don't want it to turn in to another ebay, keep it fair and honest!! for everyone. Thanks itsallngoodtime Bob
OK..after reading the posts I only have 1 question. Any CT member is allowed to sale in the open category correct? Doesn't really seem to me, IMHO, that an auction style is needed. The possibility of seller / buyer disputes could possibly upset the forum and cause bad blood. This is just my opinion. I would still enjoy the forum and the wealth of information here but would hate to see disturbances. And before anyone comments, YES, we "should" all be mature enough to deal professionally but we know that wouldn't always happen. Just a rookie opinion here.
