Tonight I got destroyed in the Nomos auction. I did win one coin on my wish list but it was not a deal but I really did not want to walk away empty handed. It was an El Aspron Trachy of Manuel. I Comnenus, The 2021 prices are the same frenzy as the 2020 prices. The Alexius coin I wanted sold for double of my budget for it.

I am one who will not post it until I get it but here is a new one I got in a Roma Auction in December Also a Maunel I El Aspron Trachy, first posting, much paler in color than the EL Aspron Trachea of his father John II.

    Extremely Fine.

One more before I call it a night. An Auction with within an auction win.

I recently purchased at auction a group lot from an older collection, the coins were still in an old album sleeve. I was attracted to three of the coin shown and this was one of them. When I received the lot it included this wrapped up paper with this particular coin. I was surprised on what I saw. I do not know if this is an original ticket from that somewhat legendary auction but I have ordered a copy of the auction book to see if I have a match, I am also curios what the closing price was. The auction results are included with the catalog I ordered but if someone else has it already please confirm this is the coin. Thanks.

Still have some regrets for that lot from Elsen.
My second purchase of the year, got it yesterday, and not yet shipped by the ebay seller: DOC IV.Pb32 - lead tetarteron of Alexius I. My 3rd, which is counterintuitive, considering I have only one DOC IV.Pb37.
