Gold will definitely go below $900 in the next couple of weeks which will bring down the Spouse coin price down. I suggest that anyone who has one on backorder cancel their order and reorder when prices go down.
At the $50 level. Here is a link to the price sheet. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_dkzFU5Omdl8/SWPEzoGZrTI/AAAAAAAAAyc/5LAqzOnFLAU/s1600-h/gold-pricing.jpg
If the prices are adjusted, they are done on a Thursday. I have to say, whether the prices have gone up or down, the mint has been true to their word and made the appropriate price adjustments each and every time. I doubt we will see any price adjustments tomorrow, unless possibly their is a clear trend below $900. And I say possibly, because once and only once did I see the mint adjust their pricing accordingly on a Thursday, even though at that moment, the price of gold hadn't crossed the particular threshold. It wasn't until the next day that the price of gold was below the level it had to cross. So I guess the mint did the right thing and went ahead with the price adjustment.... but I have only seen that once.
Well, I guess we will have to wait one more week to see what happens. Gold remained relative stable on Friday closing at 913.00. Even if it does drop below 900, you still need to hold your breath that it stays there long enough until Thursday for the mint to decide to change their prices.
I guess we will have a whole year though. Also one thing I will say about the quality of these coins is that I have yet to receive a defective one, quality control must be good on these.
Silver is going down too. Upper 12 dollar range. I have noticed when gas prices go down, so do precious metals.
I've ordered just over 30 spouse coins so far and have only had to return one for a cracked plastic capsule and another was missing the cert of authenticity which they promptly sent me.
Note to self. NEVER hire DanR in a coin shop. Sorry, Dan had to say that. We constantly hear the question "what is gold going to do"? Well, it will go up, or down and at times stays the same. If I KNEW all the answers I'd no longer have to work. For those that want to buy gold do so. I did some checking the other day at work on Gold Spouses. Secondary market isn't all that hot in the first place.
Good news is that the mint hasn't changed their precious metal prices today, so chances are they will remain the same until next Thursday when it will be reviewed again. I guess there is always a chance that the prices could change overnight, but I have not seen that.
