Constantinople Mint: 364-7 Obv. D N VALENTINI-ANVS P diademed, draped and cuirassed Bust right. Rev. SECVRITAS TEIPVBLICAE, Victory advancing right I believe this is considered scarce.
I decided to branch out a little and ancient coins were new to me. I buy the ones I like but I'm partial to the ancients that would have circulated in the time of Jesus. I may even have a coin that he or one of his disciples held in their hand at one time. I do find them interesting. I could post a coin a day for years and never get them all displayed. I only gained interest in ancients after I joined CT and I'm glad I did.
Here is one of Valentinian I. It has the rare Felicitas Romanorum reverse instead of the more common Securitas I had this but it belongs to @Valentinian now as I could not imagine anyone else that would appreciate it as much as him.
Nice, @Collecting Nut ... good to see you are seduced to the Darkside. These are not my focus, they are way too "Modern" for me. Most of my collection is BCE time period. Welcome to the dark side. The coin you posted might be scarce with that particular mint mark, but the GLORIA RO-MANORVM (the 2nd coin posted by Alegandron) and SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE reverses are the two most common types of Valentinian I and his brother Valens. You should have no difficulty picking up additional specimens of that coin at reasonable prices. Of course, coins that circulated during the time of Jesus (e.g., Augustus and Tiberius) are more expensive, but there are plenty of them out there. Good luck in your quest.
A couple of the same Reverse type for Valentinian & Valens. Valentinian, Restitutor Reip, Constantinople Valens, Restitutor Reip, Lyon ( if anyone has one, please share ) Rare
