I'm interested in buying a black light to check out my different notes just out of curiosity and I was wondering what kind of bulb I would need.I found this flashlight black light that states it is good for counterfeit bills, antiques, stains and several different tasks. This flashlight is 6" and costs only $7.99+shipping. Does this seem like the correct item. Thanks Randy

Yeah, the price seems right to me. I paid close to $20 for mine, but it came in a 'pet detection kit' :D so i paid for others items too.

per the BEP, 365nm is the correct wavelength.

The cheap $10 ones operate at around 400nm which is good enough for most applications, but you will not see the red security threads in the $100 bills with a 400nm light and the $20 bills will sometimes appear orange instead of green depending on how worn they are.

thanks gatzdon - i did not know that! i will have to check my blacklight to see what it operates at. I really dont use my light on US notes, but for world notes its a must have to differentiate some varieties!

All I know is, don't do the black light test in any hotel room..You wont sleep a wink.
