ive inspected this coin greatly and my determination is the coin was either double struck or god knows what (im not a coin expert) but it shows the original shield design and what appears a memorial design overlapping some letters of the shield design. If you look at the reverse closely you can cross examine both a memorial and shield cent to get an idea where the coin was struck over the other. on the obverse there is a crack and a cud. However, below the edge of the crack on the obverse if looked closely with a loupe you can map out some letters under there they are not huge or easy to see but not impossible to confirm with a closer look. please checkvrhe images and out and give me your best opinion. thanks.
Your coin was pressed against a memorial cent. Post mint damage. The reverse letters are a dead giveaway.
Damaged via being banged against something else metal with raised letters...not a mint error. Just damage.
