Paper testing continued with the 1928-B $1 Silver Certificate plates. Again the objective was to see if a longer circulation life could be achieved by using different papers. Test results, if any, were never published most likely because not enough notes were recovered to draw a conclusion. Printing was done in late 1932 and the notes put into circulation in early 1933. The X-B and Y-B groups were on experimental paper. The Z-B group was the control. And again not surprisingly my notes are low grade; higher grades cost beyond what I was willing to spend. 1928-B X-B Experimental Series 1928-B Y-B Experimental Series (PCGS VF-35) 1928-B Z-B Experimental Series
What you may or may not have noticed is that in all of the 1928 Series I posted no star notes. Guess why
The 1933 BEP Directors report probably has the results. Unfortunately, the online reports end in 1931. It could be obtained by an FOIA request to the BEP.
