    Out-gassing from the wood could be a definite concern. So could the effects of the adhesives that are used to bond the plywood. I'd keep a very close eye on your coins. Check them regularly.

    Looks to be big for a SDB. I'd pick the ones that are near and dear to you
    and place them in an SDB. I would hide the rest somehow to prevent
    temptation from the unknown.

    I don't think the desiccant packets will absorb gases.
