My grandmother got this at a garage sale a few years back. Think it would be worth getting this graded?
Kelso, Kelso, Kelso...If you have been told not to talk to strangers about family affairs once, you have been told a dozen times. Sure, your grandmother found this ot a garage sale, just try and get someone to believe that! Did you know this just may be the coin the FBI has been searching for, for the last seven years. Sure wouldn't want to be the one caught with this thing. I hope your grandmother has a better story thought up or she may end up in the old slammer. Now give it back to her and wait for the door bell to ring!
LOL - you're bad OldDan, bad, bad, bad No Kelso, I do not think it warrants being graded. These coins are very common even in MS69 and are not worth the cost to slab the coin.
Tell the guy the truth........ Its a 1998 American Silver Eagle....silver value would be about $7-$8...I think my dealer sells these for about $10-$12 each. Speedy
Keep in mind that even though it isn't worth grading, that doesn't mean it isn't a good coin to hang on to and take care of. I'm one of those minority opinions that thinks silver is undervalued at the present time. Your coin could be worth quite a bit more ten years from now. In the meantime, if the FBI shows up, make sure you let them know that you got it from Old Dan and he seemed a bit nervous when he forced you to accept it.

I love all of Old Dan's comments. There is an incredible amount of wisdom packed into them, and it's easy to tell that he really enjoys coins.
