If I were to even consider buying this coin, I want the actual photo and not a stock photo that is used for all his wheat auctions!

Exactly the reason I do not use some online dealers - show me the real coin.

Wow, and the stock photo isn't even a 1922, its a 1934. This photo might be moderately condoned if it was the same year, but to put up a photo of a different year is just crazy (or lazy)...:goof::hammer:

I doubt "lazy" has anything to do with it. ;)

Maybe he is stupid, and thinks all coins are the same.
Most people think that they (coins) are all the same, and it is quite sad. My mom doesn't understand why I would pay more money for one coin, than I would the other if they look the same.
A GEM BU 1922 and a GEM BU 1934 are two different coins, different strikes, mintmarks, etc.
This guy is just another scammer, trying to sucker in another newbie.

I've thought about this alot. I don't think the lack of picures absolutely means a lazy or crooked seller but they sure don't get my business.

I buy and sell on several auction sites. From that experience I know that it takes a lot of time and effort to put out fully detailed listings. For most people bad pictures take time and good pictures take even more time. Not every seller has the luxury of selling many of the same item so selling 200-350 coins means 200-350 individual descriptions and pictures.

I can kinda see what you are saying, but don't you think he may even sell more with an accurate discription and picture. Which would balance out the time spent.

Like playing the slots, I'm sure pictureless/bad picture auctions pay off just often enough to reinforce the behavior.

LOL free shipping from Saratoga. Thats a first for me. They usually charge $5 just to ship a cent from Phoenix. Yeah, stock photos stink I got burned on a switcheroo from Malta a few days ago. Traci

I just looked at the listing and see they are here in Phoenix. I have NEVER seen that any local show or coin club meetings, if they do , it would be annomously.....go figure.

Yes, Andy, it is a pain, but part of the job. I recently reposted my circ pricelist.....coins with no pics, but an email will get any coin of interest pictured to you quickly:)

I would not buy if the seller recommend buyers communicate through his yahoo email rather than just communicating through ebay.
