I agree with @Martha Lynn It looks like the zinc is corroding next to the mm. Split plating is common in the early Zincoln's, especially around the mm. Once the copper plating is breached, the zinc is exposed to environmental conditions and that can result in corrosion (think of a scratch in the paint of a car fender) You're doing the right thing by posting them to get opinions. It is very difficult to find errors/varieties that may be worth $1-2, yet alone be worth slabbing. There are many, many, many ways for a coin to be damaged. Don't forget that you also have to pay extra for them to attribute the variety (and they don't attribute everything, only specific ones). No sense on wasting $50-65 sending in a coin that is damaged like the 87-D posted above. The key to finding errors and not wasting time/money on damaged coins is knowing the minting process. Like anything you need to study and learn, which takes time. No short cuts as far as I know. Here is a site to get you started https://www.usmint.gov/news/inside-the-mint/how-coins-are-made-coin-production-terminology You should also look at the following www.doubleddie.com www.varietyvista.com www.error-ref.com Hope this helps
And I look up every website for every coin I discover. You're also forgetting lincoln cent resource and my favorite lincoln cent online and watch numismatic news coin helpu coin opp
The high cheek bone is prominent and makes the ear appear odd. Sorry, but it is not Doubled. Check out Sensible Sal's 1984. Welcome to CT and good luck
First is not a doubled ear. Second one appears to be a misaligned die, not double struck. It's not worth sending in. The third is, as the others said, zinc rot. Save your money on these.
Perhaps you can post them in a relevant sub-forum. It makes more sense to first ascertain what you have, before trying to find a value for it.
