You could, but I wouldn't. The worst part about it is there are a lot of buyers out there who would ding him seriously.
Well it is no big deal, just a typo. If he corrects himself and adds info, and says I meant to say 1943, it is okay, for us collectors, we know what he means 1943 and not 1843, but who knows, some newbie could think that a 1843 lincoln penny exists. I really say this is no big deal, to me anyways.
I agree TM... Looked to be an honest mistake and if I had won that auction I would of known what I was getting. I do like that board actually. If it wasnt brought up here in CT I might have tossed a bid at it for the board.
WHAT? There really is no 1843 Silver Lincoln Penny? Notice how carefully some say Penny and others say Cent? Penny alone usually starts a battle.
Now I'm really disappointed, I wanted to add a 1843 steel cent variety to my penny collection. There, I did it, got both words in one sentence.
sometimes it pays to proof read You are correct, it also pays to read as a buyer. Although it's a mistake (that any collector would notice) made by the seller, I've seen many mistakes that would be costly for the buyer.
