Those are absolutely beautiful tres. Here's mine: ANACS AU-55. It has a shimmering peach/burnt orange lustrous hue. Probably my favorite coin.
I'm a little embarrassed to post this one, it has some obvious hairline patches esp. on the reverse, but at least the devices were spared. I bought it as a type coin, the year 1893 and the CC mintmark reminded me of Christopher Columbus and the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago, a neat coincidence, I thought. Mintage of 60,000.
Super old gold coin, with mintage of 60 K, with CC mintmark, and you are embarrassed? (Send it to me, I will put you out of your misery!) LOL! Nice coin
Thanks for the compliments, guys, I do like the coin. Sometimes you have to make a choice between detail and surface condition, and I compromised on this one, because I liked the details. As to the CRO coin, I think AU55. Coin Rarities Online is the business of John Agre and Dave Wnuck, 2 guys I would like to meet someday, who sell terrific hand picked coins and post hilarious reports on their travels to coin shows . Here is their site: http://www.coinraritiesonline.com/index.php and click on Road Report for a good time!
Is it certified ? A gold coin with that much meat should have more lustre, but it's hard to tell from a photo.
I have hated the classic head gold design for as long as I can remember. However, that is the first truly attractive classic head half eagle I have ever seen. BRAVO & thank you! Here is my cool gold, a rainbow toned sAinT. How many gold coins have you seen with a star designation? That is cool in itself.
It's a no brainer AU58. CRO = coinraritiesonline.com, check them out they only stock the best of the best.
