It seems like there's a lot of sellers who like to overcharge s/h. I just bought a Morgan the other day, I was charged $4.98 for Priority Shipping and when I got it the postage said "FIRST CLASS" "$1.51". I left him 1 star under the detailed rating for s/h charges. And this happens all the time. Man I really love the people who offer free shipping! That's the best.
Alright AJ. Here he is. See feedback pages 11-13 especially. Some guy had major problems. I don't think this will matter much. In 48 hrs. he may no longer be a registered user. http://cgi.ebay.com/1-2-ROLL-OR-25-...ryZ11960QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
What difference does it make? I pay "X" for a coin. If postage is free, I will beid "X". If postage is $50, I will bid ("X" - $50). Now I grant you, I do not like overpaying for shipping, but it does not change what I pay for the coin.
The difference is in one instance I'm paying $3-$7 for First Class/Priority and the other I'm not paying anything for it. I'm just saying I like it when seller's are nice enough to offer free shipping...
The only thing the seller gains by overcharging shipping, is saving the few cents in commision paid to FleaBay. I charge $2.49 with free combined shipping, no limit, and it has resulted in higher prices ( in most cases, I got taken to the cleaners yesterday ) and a better DSR rating. I get a powerseller discount, which more than covers the few cents in commisions.
First off, of his 12 negatives 6 of them came from the same buyer. Netted out, I would not consider his feedback that bad considering that he received 1220 positive feedbacks in that time. I keep repeating this, but the number of negatives a seller receives is meaningless. There is one seller I ran across who got 225 negatives in the last MONTH. However, he also received 39,000 positives and all 5 of his star ratings are over 4.5. All that is immaterial to the feedback you left him. Secondly, if you think his notes to you are going to get him NARU'ed, I will bet you are mistaking. I got worse notes from wmsjewelry and ebay could not even figure out what I was talking about when I reported him.
http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=johno1733&Dirn=Received+by&Many=ON&ref=home Not sure about you, but I would avoid this guy as a buyer/seller no matter what he was selling, anything less than 99.5 or so doesn't even merit a second look IMHO.
Then I would encourage you to buy from this guy in the future if it's not that bad to you. He's now divulged into calling me stupid, short and ugly in following messages I haven't posted here. Anybody that has this many negatives should not be dealt with. There's no excuse for having this many IMO. The number of negatives means everything to me. Thats signals that there's something wrong with this seller. I don't care about the precentages game. There's plenty more people with much better feedback than this joker. Not to mention that 80-90% of ebayers are scared to death of leaving anything less than a positive and will put up with much more than I will so what are the numbers really telling us? I will be following up with ebay as much as necessary to get him removed. If not, I'll be having some in-depth discussion with ebay.
Vess, ask yourself, is this worth all this stress? There are angry people in the world, your bad boy is one of them. Deprive him of the opportunity to stress you out further.
none I have a 99.5 only because as a buyer the seller was an a-hole. But as a seller I have all positives.
I have been on eBay for 11 years, as a seller and buyer. The feedback issue is killing them lately. As a seller, forget about me selling on there again. As a buyer, no problems. One of the big issues with eBay, you cannot block bidiots with so many negs from way back when. You can only currently block bidiots with more than so many NPB's in the last month or so. Currently I am not aware of being able to block negative feedback bidders, other than doing a bit of sleuthing on your own and cancelling their bids. On my last auction on eBay in June, I did just that, I sleuthed, found that a couple of high bidders were problems for sellers, cancelled their bids and blocked them. That was the final straw for selling on eBay for me. I know of numerous sellers on eBay that have taken the steps to creating their own personal online presence, ie a website. You call the shots and set your own expenses then. And paypal, that is up to you.
you guys don't realize E-bay is completely bias against the people that actaully make e-bay THE SELLERS! 12% fees on all items sold and the fact you can only leave positive feedback and paypal will always side with the buyers ex: seller sells a $100 item with $5 shipping and pays $12 e-bay FFV and $3.35 in paypal fees the buyer receives the item and they CAN lie and say it's not as descibed and get their $105 back and pretty much keep the item since paypal doesn't care nor do anything to make sure the seller gets it back so that one sell is really a $-117 loss for the seller and a free $100 item for the buyer and e-bay gets to keep the $12 fee OH and the kicker the buyer can leave neg. feedback just cause he wants to and the seller can only leave positive feedback
Based on the seller's messages to you, he sounds like a jerk. However, and though I certainly don't excuse his rude behavior, 1) The shipping charge does not sound unreasonable. And if it was stated in the listing, you were free to take it into account in calculating your bid and shouldn't have complained about it; 2) The fact that the package took 10 days to arrive even though you live approximately only 3 hours away doesn't necessarily prove anything about whether the seller was slow in shipping the item or not; 3) Conspicuously absent from your posted information is the date of the postmark on the package. That would have given us a much better idea as to whether the seller took several days to ship, or whether you blamed him for something that wasn't his fault.
Without buyers there are no sellers and without sellers there are no buyers - both are necessary and dependant upon the other.
Tell ya what. How about posting this sellers name. I want to buy something off him and have a go with him. Belive me, ill win. What an arrogant piece of crap.
Vess, this guy sounds like an idiot, all he could say was "GET OVER IT" and continuously called you an a-hole. Sounds like a jerk to me, and I wouldn't want to do business with him.
I would not even consider buying from a seller with that kind of feedback. When you play with fire.....you get burnt.
