I have had very good luck purchasing Canadian coins on e-bay my favorite one 1881 large cent I purchased it for $17.00 free delivery has to be this one I'm not sure of the value, I have only herd of a handful reported under 10. The N's are single Foot almost all are double foot
A few years ago, at a small coin and currency show in Jacksonville, Florida, I found a 1711 Shilling in a pile of miscellaneous foreign coins for 25 cents.
I bought the 1995 gold set with the silver eagle from the mint. Today the silver eagle is worth more than the gold in the set.
Well that would fall under the “bullion” category in the sense that the reason it’s worth more now is solely due to rising gold prices.
This picture is not my coin but I bought this same coin raw for melt at the time, $22 and had it graded by PCGS the same grade as this example so the current value is $350-$400
After always wanting an 1878 Triple cotton Blossom for 35 years, I found this one just over 12 years ago at a small coin show for a whopping $50 raw.
Years ago, I wanted to buy back a 1911-D quarter eagle I had sold a friend years earlier. He said what's it worth and I offered to pay $950, which was the wholesale value at the time. He said, "That sounds too high. How about $900?" Didn't take long to write the check.
Was at the PNNA Portland show a couple years ago looking through one of the ancient dealer’s pick bins. They have several different boxes, $1, $2, $3, $5, $7, and $10 with higher price = higher quality coins. This was in the $10 box. I bought it because honestly, it looked cool. Figured on later it was a 1566 Order of Malta 1 tari struck under Jean de la Vallette, couldn’t find much on value. This one, better details but corroded and scratched, sold on Ebay a few months ago for $630.
Not sure if it's my best deal or not but you sure can't beat the price. I just did a thread on this coin today. The key date, a 1921-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar at junk pricing a few years ago.
